help

This is a picture of my front door.

I would like to paint my front door a shade of blue but it has been really difficult to choose the exact right color.  Who knew there were so many blues!  Here are a few of my top contenders.

OLD NAVY
JAMESTOWN BLUE
PHILIPSBURG BLUE
GENTLEMAN'S GRAY
This is the color gray of our house...
OZARK SHADOWS
I'd love your help!  Please tell me which shade of blue you like best:

A) OLD NAVY
B) JAMESTOWN BLUE
C) PHILIPSBURG BLUE
D) GENTLEMAN'S GRAY
E) NONE OF THE ABOVE

  1. i like the way it looks right now. the white door + trim are beautiful. the only way i could choice one color over another is to see them on the door against the gray wall + white trim. sorry this isn't very helpful but i wouldn't change a thing.

  2. This is a really good point. I just posted the color of our house below the shades of blue so that you can see them all on the same page.

And thanks for saying you like the way it looks now. Keeping the door white is certainly still an option.

  3. Your house is adorable, and your friend is right - you don't need to change a thing.
But! It's fun to take a chance on color! My vote is for Phillipsburg Blue (just the door, of course, not the trim, in my opinion).
Remember, you can always go back to white if you're unhappy with it.
    On a not-so-unrelated note... I love a red door. :)
Have fun and good luck! I can't wait to see the outcome, whichever way you decide to go.

  4. I echo the loveliness of the white door as it is, as well. I opened another window in my browser of each color and dragged the window onto the door;) I say B or C ! My first answer was the lighter shade of Jamestown, but when I put Philipsburg on your door, he surprised me too :) xo Jamie

  5. My initial thought was Gentleman's Gray. I think the deep contrast with the white/gray could look really sharp. But is it true that paint looks darker when it dries? If that's the case, I worry it might be too dark. If so, my second choice is Philipsburg Blue. xo H
